There are several options as to where these fixtures came from, either they were in the farm house and removed when it was converted to electricity, or they came from a house or a dry goods store that the family owned in Sag Harbor, NY. In either case, they have been stored away for the past 100 plus years untouched. This is a two-light fixture with two arms that both have connections for a gas lamp or a shade that points downward. Shade holders can be easily added. It has never been converted to electricity and still retains the original gilt surface patina, which I find desirable. So often these are re-plated or the patina is very dark. Condition: Normal wear to the surface. some oxidation, light rust. Can easily be converted to electric. Each arm unscrews from the core, as well as the underside of the center oval. These parts will be disassembled for shipping.
