A very large redware terracotta female figure shown in a kneeling pose with her long, slender calves folded beneath her (feet with toes nicely delineated), an ever-so-slightly distended belly, and diminuitive arms held out beside her perky breasts. Presenting a characteristically elongated head with a cap-like headdress, pronounced ears and a long, straight nose, her expression is of a somewhat entranced state replete with half-closed eyes and an open toothy mouth as perhaps the artist wished to depict her while chanting or singing. Nice manganese deposits and burnishing marks upon the surface. Size: 6.25" L x 7" W x 13.75" H (15.9 cm x 17.8 cm x 34.9 cm) #107132 Condition: Tiny nick to fingers on right hand and minor surface wear.
