Seller: artemisgallery (669) 100%, Location: Louisville, CO, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 381744879537 Panamanian / Costa Rican Tripod Bowl - Animal Body Pre-Columbian, Panama/Costa Rica, probable Diquis period, ca. 800 to 1500 CE. This is red-slipped red ware pottery with three legs and a short-eared, snub-nosed animal face - possibly a bat's - on one side, and a curly tail on the other side. The interior of the bowl is also painted. There is little known about the Diquis culture but this was probably an object that would have been entombed with a body. Size: 4-1/2" x 5-3/4" x 7-3/4". #110296 Condition: One side of the pot has been broken and repaired, but it is intact and the repair is difficult to see. There is some wear and patina, but the features and paint are still very easy to see.
