Having two spouts (double wick holes) which have black residue from use and calcified surface deposits. A large raised cross between the two spouts and the filling hole. Above the filling hole, a stylized cross thumb rest having, as extremely rare, two Menorahs attached at the base and opposite each other. On the shoulder, two raised lines on both sides of the cross. A museum piece, worth further study. Extremely Rare. Restoration on the back of the top portion of the cross thumb rest, otherwise intact. Provenance: From the collection of a well known collector of antiquities and ancient art, Don Simon, who always dealt with high quality antiquities (especially from Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Fortuna Fine Art Gallery) acquired in Jerusalem about 25 years ago.
