"Our Mission" The purpose of the organization is the recognition, appreciation, and preservation of the built environment, (buildings, feats of engineering, parks, avenues, and other historic landscaping features and archaeological remains), within the Inland Empire, focusing on resources within the City of Riverside, California. The Old Riverside Foundation is a 501 c. 3. non profit corporation that sponsors an annual Twelfth Night Progressive dinner, Awards program, Vintage Home Tour and Restoration Faire, and an annual meeting of the Corporation. In between these events, the organization holds monthly board meetings, promotes historic preservation at conferences and shows, conducts political advocacy of preservation, ... assists agencies, organizations, and individuals with preservation efforts, and operates an architectural salvage collection and sales program. We also produce a quarterly newsletter and we profile threatened structures in a Most Endangered Buildings bulletin. A number of standing committees are in place to plan events and conduct the operations of the Corporation. Please check back often as we will be adding more items to our site in the future. Thank you!

Our priorities are to preserve historic buildings in place. If that is not possible we seek relocation of the buildings to an appropriate new location. Lastly, if demolition is the only recourse, we pursue salvage rights so that the contents of historic buildings can be used in the restoration of older buildings |
