Antique Federal Brass ANDIRONS Pennend Ball Finail top w/ Ball Feet early 1800's
This eBay listing is for an antique pair of brass and cast iron Andirons. The set comes as you see pictured in the listing. I know little about andirons but I just picked up a few pieces from a local catalog estate sale that stated that this came from one of the original Front St mansions on the riverfront in Harrisburg, PA. I tried to do a little homework to better educate myself on them. I believe this is what they call American Federal brass andirons with a peened bottom, seamed brass top finials with round plinth ball feet. Possible made in Boston from the early 1800's. No markings found on them. The condition is very good for their age!! The cast iron dogs in the back have normal rusting form age and use and the brass has a nice deep patina with natural wear to them. I'll also have an antique brass and cast iron Fender that came with this set that will be listed in my ebay store as well. The overall average size of the andirons are as followed:
19.5" Tall
9.5" Across
18.5" Deep
