Seller: pennantique (3,515) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 262741522832 Penn Antique Restoration Pair of Vintage Reproduction Greek Revival Door Knobs Fantastic, antique-reproduction doorknob set consisting of 2 knobs, 2 rosettes, and a 3/8" thick spindle with 2 setscrews. The knobs and rosettes are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast brass, not plated iron. I'm not sure which manufacturer (i.e. R&E, Corbin, H&D) originally made the pattern, but original versions of these knobs were made in the 1870's or 1880's. This set was made decades ago and has acquired a great patina over time. The parts have the same rich patina that you would find on originals, so only someone knowledgeable with antique hardware will be able to tell that this is a reproduction. The set was removed from a huge door that we salvaged from the storefront in Brooklyn, NY (see last photo). We found the knobs in great shape with only subtle scratches, tiny nicks, and light scuffs. There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or gouges. This is one of the finest reproduction knob sets I have ever come across. Whether you are installing the set in your home, or adding it to your collection; a vintage knob set with such radiant beauty and of such fine quality construction is a great investment, which will only increase in value!
