Antique Cameo Brooch Portrait 800 Sterling Silver Pendant Floral

We are currently accepting offers for this lovely Victorian style hand carved shell cameo set in an 800 Silver filigree brooch and pendant setting.  It is in excellent condition with little to no ware.  The carving is refined and intricate. Silver scrolling is ornate and well done with floral accents. 800 is the old European "Continental" standard f Sterling silver. 925 is the current, United States standard for sterling. The definition of sterling has historically varied by country and time period.  It is marked 800 for silver content.  Cameo is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks. It has an early roll over safety clasp for secure ware. It is an early rollover safety clasp, and pin appears to be from late 1930s or early 1940s. It is difficult to tell if replacement or original claps or pin was later addition.  Brooch is Victorian in style, but may have ben made in late 1930s or early 1940s, or could be earlier, if brooch hardware was added later. It is an estate piece purchased from the UK. Bale is an old fixed loop with ring for wearing as a pendant, which looks original to the piece.
