In the clouds of smoke are the words “MILITARY NECESSITY KNOWS NO LAW.”. This is a page that was neatly removed from the magazine.

Badge - Vintage 1919 framed certificate from the Red Cross Society and Order of Saint John for Recognition of Valuable Services Rendered During The War, Presented To - Miss Florence C. Goodchild. Also has a mounted badge from Q.M.C.A.H. - Roehampton. Frame measures 11 7/8" x 8 7/8" and has some corner + edge wear, no wire on back. Glass has some scratches + soiling. It is a medical thermometer that was dug years ago at a pit near Corbie that was used as a hospital site for the British. It measures 4 1/2" long. The metal tube still opens. Inside is the thermometer but it is in pieces.

Needlepoint Sampler 1918 Royal Marine Engineers & Drill Cadet Leadership Train - Robert H. Smith joined the DCLT on August 21st 1918. The embroidered fabric appears to have been made stable by mounting on a tighter-weave fabric. Final backing is a thin sheet of card board. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.

Signed Copeland Spode Cobalt Blue Stoneware Memorial Decanter – Circa 1916 - Excellent original condition. The cork has been glued into the stopper. The words “Copeland” and “England” are impressed on the underside along with the period Copeland Spode mark. One of the few to foresee a long war, lasting for at least three years, and with the authority to act effectively on that perception, he organized the largest volunteer army that Britain had seen, and oversaw a significant expansion of materials production to fight on the Western Front.
