Post Dinosaur Fossil Fish A Grade Piece! - This listing is for a wonderful Knightia alta, personally collected and prepared from the Eocene Green River Formation, Lindgren Quarry of Kemmerer, Wyoming. The specimen was found in the “bottom cap” oil shale layer, which is by far the most time consuming layer to prepare fossils from, yet preserves them in such a brilliant manner as you can see from the fish itself here! This fish was found in a huge plate I pried up, cut down to adequate size, and then carefully prepared using the acid methodology for optimal results. Specimen is roughly 6” on a nicely cut slab measuring 7.5 x 5.5 x 0.8”. Don’t miss out on this true gem!
