Collected in 16 fathoms of water in California, near Huntington Beach. The shell exhibits intricate patterns and textures that make it a standout piece. I used to find vexillum cones on the reef flat in fromt of Ala Moana Beach Park. It is a huge reef, stretching well over a mile long, with about half of it exposed during a good low tide, and the different types of shells found there is incredible---vexillum, miles, distans, imperialis, ebraeus cones, and among the cowries, the super-rare (in Hawaii) deer cowrie is found there too, truly amazing, since the reef is sitting right there in the middle of Honolulu!
