George III Sheffield Plate Toasted Cheese Dish 1790 - 1810

Elegant Antique Sheffield plate George III toasted cheese dish with applied Gadroon borders.. It has no plate loss and measures 12" length, 3 1/2' high, with a 7" diameter. It features the original wooden handle which unscrews so that hot water can be poured into the reservoir to keep food warm. Its lid has pin mounts that conform to the size of the food being prepared or served. The hinged lid has decorative borders and a handsome finial.

The total weight of the server is weighs 845 grams.

The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.

The soft, warm, original antique finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
