England Great Britain 6 Pence King William III Silver Coin 1696 UNC This is a SCARCE HIGH GRADE 17th Century Silver Coin from England in Great Britain. This British Coin was struck in Silver for 6 Pence in 1696. The Coin features a Portrait of King William III on the obverse and the Coat of Arms on the reverse. William III (4 November 1650 - 8 March 1702) also known as William of Orange, was the sovereign Prince of Orange from birth and King of England, Ireland and Scotland from 1689 until his death in 1702. He ruled Britain and Ireland alongside his wife, Queen Mary II, and their joint reign is known as that of William and Mary. William became King with the support of influential Protestant political and religious leaders after deposing his father-in-law, King James, a Catholic. William's reputation as a staunch Protestant enabled him and his wife to take power. During the early years of his reign, William was occupied abroad with the Nine Years War (1688-1697), leaving Mary to govern Britain alone. She died in 1694. In 1696 the Jacobites, a faction loyal to the deposed James, plotted unsuccessfully to assassinate William and restore the deposed James to the throne. William's lack of children and the death in 1700 of his nephew, the son of his sister-in-law Anne, threatened the Protestant succession. The danger was averted by placing William and Mary's cousins, the Protestant Hanoverians, in line to the throne, William was succeeded in Britain by Queen Anne. The Coin is Catalogued as KM-484.1 and grades in UNCIRCULATED Condition. Shipping cost will be $3.95. International shipping will be $13.95. Please read our shipping policy below. Shipping: SHIPPING:

We combine shipping on multiple purchases and incrementally increase shipping charges according to weight.

Domestic shipping charges are specified in each listing except International shipping charges which can be determined through Ebay.

In the event of a shipping loss we may require you to sign an affidavit of non-receipt and cooperate in the investigation.

                                                  DOMESTIC SHIPPING POLICY

All purchases will be shipped by First Class mail, Media mail, Priority mail or Express mail via the USPS or through Fed Ex.  We do our best to estimate our shipping charge at actual cost in advance of listing (includes shipping, insurance and materials).  Shipping charges are specified in each listing.

                                         INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING POLICY

We ship to all international destinations, except those prohibited by U.S. law.

There is a new shipping policy in effect called "Ebay International Shipping". All international packages are sent to a U.S. "shipping hub" and from there they are re-routed to the destination country. Your international address is not visible to me.

You pay the domestic shipping rate which is specified in each listing. Ebay will then charge you the cost of international shipping (includes related fees as specified by your country: customs, VAT, currency conversion, etc). Those costs are avalilable for review through the Ebay site. I neither receive those fees nor am I able to view them.

Under Ebay's new shipping program I lose all control over completing customs forms, address changes, etc. I am limited to packaging and shipping domestically to the "shipping hub" and then Ebay takes over the rest of the shipping and delivery process.

If you are able to designate an alternate shipping address within the U.S. your shipping expense will be significantly less.
