Details: This auction is for the exquisite vintage porcelain small nut dish, made by Herend, Hungary.
The white porcelain dish is beautifully reticulated and adorned with intricate hand painting and gilding: magenta flowers ( motif of a peony surrounded by leaves) and gilding, a pattern known as Chinese Bouquet. This is one of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory's most popular décors, developed out of the Fleurs des Indes decoration. The origin of the pattern is associated with Count Albert Apponyi, for whom this simplified version of Fleurs des Indes was first prepared.

The Herend Porcelain Manufactory is a Hungarian manufacturing company, specializing in luxury hand painted and gilded porcelain. Founded in 1826, it is based in the town of Herend. The Herend porcelain is as famous as German Meissen.
The dish has blue identifying back mark HEREND HUNGARY HANDPAINTED as well as handwritten form number and pattern code AP.
