EXCELLENT CONDITIONED LAW RELATAED INCUNABLE IN A SPLENDID BINDING - MADE BY THEODORE HAAG, FROM THE PROPORTY OF CARLOS BLACKER  TWO PARTS IN ONE VOLUME: PART 1 AUTHOR Bonifaz VIII., Pope Bonifatius VIII., also Benedetto Caetani (around 1235 - 1303) was a pope from 1294 until 1303. TITLE Liber sextus Decretalium. Johannes Andreae: Super arboribus consanguinitatis et affinitatis. PART 2 AUTHOR Clemens V.  Clemens V., also Bertrand de Got (between 1250 and 1265 until 1314), was a pope from 1305 until 1314. In the year 1309 he was moving the pontifical residence to Avignon. Johannes Andreae Johannes Andreae, or also Giovanni d’ Andrea and Johannes Andreae de S. Hieronymo (around 1270 - 1348) was an important italien legal scholar and canon lawyer. TITLE Constitutiones. Decretales extravagantes communes selectae. Including the gloss by Johannes Andreae and the Summaria and Divisiones by Johannes Andreae, Dominicus de Sancto Geminiano. The work is complete absolutely. BINDING - Excellent copy of a magnificent Grolier-book cover by Theodore Hague, 1890. - Splendid brown calf leather over massive wooden boards in the style of the Grolier bindings. - Wonderful copy of a Grolier binding, probably by “Hague”, made around 1900. - With multi-coloured inlays and richly gilt. - 4 silver metal corner fittings and silver coat of arms (of pope Leo X.) as centre piece on sides. - Wide silver clasp. - Combed edges in red, blue and gold (by "Hague"; cover material of spine here and there   bursted. - Five compartmens. - Large Folio sizes: 43,3 x 29,5 cm x 7,0 cm (HxWxT) CONDITION Binding - Very decoratove and wellconditioned. - Binding and inner book strong and stable. - Edges and corners bumped. - Covers slightly rubbed. - Spine leather splittet and with some rubbings and scuffings on hinges. - Hinges renewed partly. - Recently endpapers with stronger glue traces and with marginal damages on outer margins. Paper - Excellent condition. - Sharp print and strong handmade paper. - Beautifully printed in red and black. - Wide-margined outside and at bottom. - Extraordinary clean copy. Imperfections - No cracks, no tears, no damages and no losses. PROVENANCE From the possession of Carlos Blacker (1859-1928), a close friend of Oscar Wilde. See Carlos Blacker collection, catalog, 1897, no.91.
