MiG21F/F13 -   Mikoyan-Gurevich Izdeliye 72  Балалайка   - is a daylight interceptor - it had no radar.

CDkit describes the SRD5M Kvantum ranging gunsight + AFA39 camera on man panel with reticule on side panel graphic. This graphic also shows RP-21 radar upgrade and includes original gunsight. On the right is ARK-10 ADF. 

MiG21 weapons could include PUS-36D weapons sequencing module – IR K13 missile system or UB-16-57 unguided rockets or 2x S24 rockets or 2x FAB100/250/500 bombs or ZB360 napalm.

Vietnam = during 1966 F4 Phantoms fought MiG21Fs w ATOLL AAM (921st Fighter Regiment). Later, MiG21PF Izdeliye 76 with RP-21 Sapfir (Spin Scan) was more than a match. US pilots learned to distinguish the RP-21's rhythmic three tone pulse.

MiG21 was known as ‘Balalaika’ in Russia,  Fishbed to NATO, and J7 to PRC China.
