Older Early Vintage Steiff 12" Hump Back Mohair Jointed Teddy Bear w/ Growler. Rare antique and very charming long snout Mohair Steiff Teddy Bear.
This beautiful teddy bear is dark blonde, card-disk jointed at head, shoulders and hips, distinctive hump on upper back, small head with long snout, very long curved arms, elongated hands and large narrow feet with narrow ankles, tan felt pads and four black claws on paws (1906), pointed muzzle with brown thread stitched mouth and vertically stitched nose, brown and black glass eyes, growler in belly that works when you shake him, stuffed with wood-wool (crackles). Made in Germany by Steiff. No button, right ear has been partially reattached and there is some wear in spots in the mohair (see photos). Circa early 1900's.
