With craftsman made HAND BLOWN, gorgeous,undamaged, translucent, transparent eyes. two colors of glass black glass for pupils, with orange glass wrapped around the black to make a circle for the eye. Amazing quality and craftsmanship. These eyes illuminate with light behind them (see pic above) as would in front of a roaring fire. Both have dated trademark stamped on back. Firedogs were both handmade by a blacksmith. Using forge welding techniques of layering billet steel on top of each other then hammering them all together in a forge to make 1 piece. Look at the curve in the leg where it touches the floor pic. You can see the layers and layers of steel that. This is also the early steps in making Samurai swords. Old school craftsmanship at it's finest. They also slide right in and out of the notch on back for easy packing and shipping. I weld and can shorten the dog legs if you would like. Email me for details. This pair is exceptional quality and condition. There is NO damage anywhere to any part. I have even wire wheeled both billets/firedogs to remove any loose carbon scale and corrosion. The owls are 15.5" tall and 9.5" at its widest, on bottom.Firedogs 21" front to back.
