Seller: bobcourtneyauctions (1,730) 100%, Location: Millbury, Massachusetts, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 401058468326 Inventory # 1504.........Very Rare & Unusual Industrial Brass Ceiling Mount Light Fixture Chandelier which I believe was Converted from Arc to Gas then to Electric. Please note; This is the only fixture of it's kind I have ever seen in the last 30 years of dealing with antique lighting and it is my hypothesis with this order of conversion. I welcome any comments of correction if you know for sure how this fixture was used. I have come to this conclusion from researching online. The canopy on this is very large at 14" in diameter and has the applied insulator on the inner lip. On the inside of this body are three (3) cylinder chambers holding metal coils and the exterior of this body at the top has circular cut out air vents, as well as Flur De Lis air vent cut outs at the lower portion. There is a slight gap between the body and to where the double fitter attaches. From what I had seen online, the 7" outer fitter is to hold a reflective shade and the interior 6" fitter would had held a large bullet style shade. The porcelain electrical component looks to had been made by the Peru Electric Manufacturing Company, Peru, Ind. for it is marked with the capital P and also marked p206. The socket is a P & S fat body socket. I have looked high and low for any makers marks but could not find anything. There is a paper label on the inner lip of the fitter with patented dates but most I can not make out. The only one I could make out was April 25 '90. Please view all photos and see condition description before bidding. Dimensions: Canopy is 14" in diameter, the double fitter is 6" & 7". Total length is approx. 12 1/2" high Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! As you may notice by the photos, the brass shows the "kiss of time" with some spotting and patina. This is pushed in a little where the Flur De Lis cut outs are but it should be able to be pulled back into shape. As for the electrical part of this fixture, this is the only one of it's kind I have ever seen so I say it is a great example of early electric but I would suggest using new electrical components if you plan on using this as a electrical light fixture. The large 14" diameter canopy is not attached to the fixture. The part which would attach to the canopy should of had 2 rivets and 1 screw so they could be attached, but they are missing. I only know this because with this fixture was a whole lot of the same early parts and out of the 5 body parts which came with this lot, three of the bodies had the rivets and screw. This is the only one complete., Color: Gold, Material: Brass
