Symmetrical with ball terminal beams. The top of the vertical beam comprising the suspension eye. Center square with a saltire each side. Some wear from use and burial. The silver restored, on modern sterling silver chain. Saxons were late to accept Christianity and did so only after their defeat by Charlemagne in the early 9th century. It's possible that these crosses were worn as an indication of that acceptance and by extension, submission to Carolingian rule.
