Seller: coralsea1952 (1,191) 100%, Location: Holland, New York, Ships to: Americas, Europe, Asia, Item: 331696513679 Beautifully preserved Arrowheads over 10,000 years old ! These little treasures date from a time when the northern Sahara was a lush land and not the desert of today...about 10,000 years ago. They were part of a hunter's tool kit for putting food on the table. The pictures show their state of preservation which is rated extra fine! There is no burial encrustation remaining and they display very well under halogen lighting. The artifacts are contained in a 12 x 16 inch museum quality Riker's case which is included in the lot. A ruler has been laid across the case to provide a sense of scale. The glass cover was removed for the close up photos. The arrowheads range in size from just under one inch in overall length for the smallest to slightly over two inches in overall length for the largest. Included are the main styles of the time: leaf, tanged and tangless and the hybrid leaf. The largest sizes are general purpose points used for larger land game such as rabbits, etc. The slightly smaller ones are "fishing points" for aquatic game and the ones around 1.0 inch are "bird points" used for quarry in the sky. The original receipt for the lot from artifact dealer Kevin Cordeiro (dated February 15, 2003 as his stock number 2508141002) is included with the items. Interesting and quite uncommon as a group, this lot is part of a clearance and no returns can be accepted. Please ask any questions before bidding and I will answer promptly. Thank you for checking the listing and good luck! Material: Stone, Flint: also quartz and slate
