Early to mid 19th Century Rare solid brass hand forged lock with iron key.

Rare and desirable Heart form.

Exceptional original condition and perfect untouched patina. 

Fully functional and usable today

An amazing piece of American 18th century hand wrought brass.

Hard to date these, but this would be prior to 1850. Sometimes called a Railroad Lock.

Rare to find functional with Original key.

Chain and ring on key a late 19th century addition

Hard to find a nicer early example.

This piece found in Connecticut.

I am a third generation early hearthware and utilitarian collector, specializing in hand wrought iron. The collection ranges from First settlement period colonial to roughly 1840, pre-industrial.
