For your consideration - a VINTAGE EARLY 1970s LUDWIG 5X14" BLUE VISTALITE SNARE DRUM. This vintage snare drum is still solid, given its age and makes for a great player's drum. The pointy BLUE & OLIVE badge has a serial number 1028, engraved by a previous owner, most likely due to fact that most of the drums were shipped with no factory serial number. The shell of the drum is in great condition, having NO cracks or spider-webbing of any kind. The shell does have some minor scratches here and there but nothing major. All of the white neoprene plastic isolation pads for the lugs are present. The chrome does have pitting but still shines. The factory throw-off and butt are present and the factory black round felt internal muffler is still present and functions as it should. The batter head is a Remo clear Pinstripe and the snare side is most likely the original Ludwig WeatherMaster. The snare wires are after market but in great condition.
This drum has a fantastic sound but could benefit from some fresh heads:
