Vintage Beaded Wall Candle Sconces
Wow, these 1920-30's candle sconces are really over-the-top glamorous, and we're hard to photograph well.
For auction, I offer this vintage/antique pair of gorgeous beaded glass wall candle sconces with mirrored back plates. At the top of each sconce is a clear and green beaded "crown" of sorts which suspends strands of beaded flower heads and swags. These join with three similarly beaded metal candle holders. The lower basket consists of graduated strands of clear beads. At the bottom, short strands of clear and green beads complete each sconce. One sconce has 10 of these short strands; the other has just 9.
Each sconce is about 18" tall and 12" at its widest point; each projects about 8" from the wall and has three candle holders. The pair is in reasonably good condition, but please be warned that the mirror plates have desilvered in several places. These sconces are old, and if an aged patina bothers you, please think twice. At one point, someone wired the mirrored backs on to the sconces for added security. One sconce is missing a metal tab that secures its mirrored backing.
Over time, some of the beaded strands have come undone/unattached and been rewired, but for the most part, the sconces look to be identical. Also please know that the beads and crystals on the sconces could use a good cleaning.
Please keep in mind that these are NOT electrified; they are candle sconces. Please look at my photos using the zoom feature, and e-mail me with any questions. If you have a moment, please check out my other items .
