Ezra Charles Schultz was born on 1/5/1882 in Elmwood, Ontario, Canada. A farmer by occupation, he enlisted into the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 21/2/1916.
After initial training in Cannada he was posted to England on 11/11/1916 for further training and subsequently posted to the 5th Battalion C.E.F. in France on 28/11/1916. He served with the 5th until the end of the war being posted to the 1st Training Company Canadian Engineers on 9/8/1918.
During his time with the 5th he would have seen action during the Battle of Vimy Ridge and Passchendaele in 1917 and all the hard fighting of 1918.
At the end of the war, he remained in France until returning to Cannada on 16/4/1919 for discharge on 29/4/1919. He died on 17/5/1951.
