A 17th Century style (19th Century-made) English antique oak box stool of peg-joined construction.
Authentic box stools of the period are incredibly difficult to find and as a result are many thousands of pounds!
This stool, whilst made in the 19th Century as a copy of its earlier counterpart, is a good looking example in its own right but much more reasonable price-wise!
With plank top above a carved supporting apron over four turned legs united by stretchers.
Original iron lock plate and hinges. Remains of hasp still in situ.
Condition - Good as per images.
Dimensions : Height 22" x Width 19 3/4" x Depth 11 1/4"
