Its Canadian by Maurice ChalvignacHere is a beautiful vase with an organic glaze, in the aesthetics of West German and danish "fat lava" design. It includes tones of white, tawny brown caramel with moiré and foam effect. The artist made the choice of asymmetry, both in the belly and in the collar.Born in France in 1927, Maurice Chalvignac enter the Paris School of Fine Arts after the 2nd World War. He received a sculptor training for 7 years and became interested in ceramics. He emigrated to Canada in 1957 and settled in Montreal where he found a job in a religious sculpture business. Then he met Claude Jasmin (1930-), a leading man of letters who, at that time, was a ceramist. He encourages Chalvignac to return to this art and he will did it successfully. He repeatedly expand his workshop until about thirty employees. Production, including lamps, wall art, vases, bowls, ashtrays, and more, will be distributed across Canada. He draws himself all its models and works closely with Giovani Liva, his foreman, for the finishing. We also know him collaborating with the great artist Jordi Bonet. Around 1980, he will choose to return to a more artisanal production. Images sell! Get Supersized Images & Free Image HostingCreate your brand with Auctiva's Customizable Templates.
