Gauge Cluster LED Bulb Upgrade Kit Speedometer For 1973 1979 Ford Truck Pickup  This is for a set of 2 LEDs that will greatly increase the visibility of your dentside's gauge cluster at night.    When installed in a cluster, they will provide a bright, rich vibrant color. Please note , you must disassemble your cluster and remove the teal colored light filters, otherwise the cluster will not light up properly. These will fit all the 73 - 79 Ford F Series trucks as well as the big Bronco in 1978 and 1979. Please note LEDs are directional. If they do not work the first time, flip them 180 degrees in the socket.  Also note: These do not dim fully like a regular bulb. The best way to describe is as follows...  A 'regular incandescent' bulb can go from 1 - 10, with 1 being off/dim, and 10 being full brightness. The LED can go 1... then 8 - 10. They have a VERY small range of brightness.  (Most people run these at full brightness anyway, in my experience.). Want ALL of your clusters indicator lights to be crisp and bright, to compliment these LEDs, for a modern look? Buy the INDICATOR KIT (SELECT YES) NOTE REGARDING INDICATORS!!
  • You will receive more bulbs than you need. This keeps the ordering process simple and gets you your bulbs much quicker. 
  • If applicable, do not change your ALT indicator to an LED.. The alternator will not charge with an LED in place.
  • The high beam indicator, is very bright. Some love it, some do not. Bear in mind, you are not forced to run the entire kit. 

SUPPLEMENTAL KIT NOTES

  1. Headlight/wiper indicator
  2. TWO bulbs for the steering column PRND21 indicator (Two different types of bulbs were used, one will work)
  3. HVAC control panel indicator
  4. Ashtray bulb  (Not all trucks had the lighting option)
  5. Radio dial indicator 
  6. Glove Box bulb. ( Not all trucks had the lighting option) Brief notes. I have personally used these on my 79 F100. 
  • The headlight wiper indicator is a VERY TIGHT fit but does work. You may need to tweak the metal housing, or shave the LED some. You'll see. 
  • The "PRND21" indicator bulb can be difficult to replace. Google is your friend.
  • The radio dial indicator bulb has a small metal 'tube' that goes around the OEM bulb. I suggest leaving this tube off. Some light WILL pass through around the station selector buttons, but in my opinion it looks very nice
  • The glove box light must be assembled 'backwards' (black to red and red to black). It is installed with double sided tape. All standard rules for double sided tape apply. (clean surface, careful installation). The optional DOME light bulb is directional. If it doesn't illuminate, flip it and reinstall.. You may need to bend the tabs on your dome light housing to retain the bulb.
You will receive bulbs for the illumination sockets only (circled above) unless you buy the indicator kit as well.  Sockets NOT included unless you select them! I test each LED before shipping! No duds! CLUSTER NOT INCLUDED. Please examine your cluster for any flakiness or disintegration before buying these! If it's damaged, it may fall apart.  I am not responsible for this.
