Omega History:

Omega is a horological marque with no need for introduction, however here is a brief history. A pioneer of watches since 1848, Omega has continued with an unsurpassed reputation for accuracy and luxury. Indeed, Britain's Royal Flying Corps chose Omega watches in 1917 as the official timekeeper for its combat units, as did the US Army in 1918. Omega has been the official timekeeping company of the Olympic Games since 1932.

Omega watches were the choice of NASA for all their Apollo missions which culminated in the lunar landing in 1969. Essentially, Omega was selected over all rival companies to be the first watch worn on the Moon. Indeed there are still some Omega Speedmaster watches who are inscribed on the case-back “the first watch worn on the moon”.  There have been many notable people (both real and imaginary) who have chosen Omega watches.
