I’m often asked where we find these clean, unique vehicles.  A good friend cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, our V.F.W. Hall and the small-town back streets of rural areas near Seattle.  He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away…  He’ll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal left on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a metal-bumpered vehicle passes by!  Occasionally, one of our local collector contacts or a Jeep club member will part with a vehicle from their stable.  If you’re in the market for a clean vintage SUV, please give this nice Grand Wagoneer your kind attention.  Feel free to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay auction listing.  My name is Mark and you can reach me directly by phone or text at 206/914-1173.

CONDITION:

The photos really tell the Jeep’s story.  From them you’ll see the rig has obviously been well cared for over the years.  We’ve found absolutely NO evidence of any accidents, storm damage, insurance salvage, theft recovery or repossession history to cause you concern as the next caretaker!

I take pride in these vehicles and feel you should know as much about them as possible.  Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and any small things possibly needing attention: The four-wheel drive system works just as it should.  With a flip of a switch the drive train goes to full 4x4 mode when needed, so most of the time you’re able to remain in 2WD, not wearing out the strong Dana front axle components during summertime highway use.  The overall exterior is in good condition.  No fading on any of the faux woodgrain vinyl.  The rig wears factory-color gunmetal gray metallic paint, having been resprayed to its original tint sometime in the past.  There is no clearcoat fading, rock chips on the nose or major dents.  Rust? Well, this classic Jeep HATES rust and you’d be hard pressed to find anything here to worry about!   Because we rarely get snow west of the Cascades in western Washington, our winter roads are never salted.  Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling!

One turn of the key and the strong 360 CID V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal.  There’s a nice, throaty rumble to the exhaust.  A new muffler was installed about two years ago.  Fewer than 1,000 miles have since been added.  The three-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO slippage.  Of course, there’s a tilt steering column, power steering, brakes and windows.  All four stock alloy wheels are wrapped with older radials (all have at least 30% remaining tread) but I’d consider adding new rubber before a long trip, just because of their age.  It really is fun to drive anywhere you’d wish to go and you’re guaranteed to get a “thumbs up” every time!

Please take another look at the interior pics.  The front and back carpets are like-new.  Absolutely no fading, grease stains or dirt.  Most often when I come across these great rigs, my first item of business is to have the saggy (or missing) headliner installed as they are almost always bad.  My favorite local upholstery shop put in a nice color-matched suspended type two years ago for me.  A pair of replacement sun visors are on order and will be included before the rig heads to the next caretaker.   All the glass is great, including the windshield, and the dash pod oil pressure and water temp. gauges have been supplemented under-dash as shown.  Over time, I've learned to not trust the fuel level gauge and just fill-up after a certain number of miles driven.  The radio faceplate isn’t pictured, but I believe I have it and will update the auction listing after looking around the warehouse.  The tailgate glass moves up and down smoothly using the dash switch.  About the only negatives we’ve encountered are as follows: the electric mirrors don’t respond to their door switch (I just manually adjust them) and the little tranny indicator arrow on the steering column is missing.  As is typical on most Grand Wagoneers, the power windows can be slow-moving, but the two fronts are used the most and operate fine.  Attention will be needed to make the A/C functional (we’re not sure what that will entail).  That’s about it!    If you’re thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy Suburban or Ford Bronco of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to drive and look this Grand Wagoneer over first!

PLEASE DO BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a classic from a respected Ebay seller.  I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal!   Please don’t be upset by a missed flaw or some unforeseen problem!  No vintage used car or truck is ever perfect.  Having said this, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this SUV long distance immediately.

Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call, text or email before placing a bid.  If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled.   As I’ve outlined above, the phone number to talk directly to me is 206/914-1173 .  Please feel free to call any time during the auction.  My name is MARK THOMPSON .  You’re welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to inspect & drive the Grand Wagoneer.  You might also make an offer, as many of my vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that contact me and work out a deal prior to the auction’s end.  I always reserve the right to sell during this period.

A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:

Full payment is due by cash (in person only) or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me.  I can accept credit or debit cards, but I’ll first need to invoice you and ask that you cover the 3.5% fee our processor charges us.  Please remember you’re bidding to buy and I fully expect the winner to fulfill their Ebay contract!  You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.

If you decide to have the Jeep transported home, there are scores of companies to choose from.  I ship vehicles regularly and am happy to make suggestions about who to use.  In addition to quotes using the shipping tab here on the auction site, you might also get bids directly from U-Ship.com.  You’ll be able to choose a broker from multiple offers.  The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, Washington).  We do have a transporter that regularly delivers for us to western states and has arranged transport to the Midwest and East Coast as well.  Ultimately, shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER .

The Wagoneer can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received.  After that period storage is $20 per day.  The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.  All information described above is based on the observed condition when the listing was placed.  I've done my very best to describe the Jeep as honestly as possible and encourage bidders to contact me with questions.

On Aug-18-18 at 21:10:19 PDT, seller added the following information:

Note to bidders:  Because the Jeep's been spending most of it's time stored in my Auburn warehouse the past year, it has developed an un-characteristic tranny fluid drip, likely from a dried-out seal.  The amount seems to be diminishing as I've been driving the rig daily over the past week. --Mark
