This is a one family owned vehicle. It was my fathers until he had passed away then I purchased it from the estate. I have been doing the maintenance on it since new. This vehicle has every option that was offered when it was purchased new. It has the LTZ and RS packages. It has a 1.4 liter turbo ecotec engine paired to a 6 speed automatic transmission that has the option to be shifted manually. The engine produces 146 HP and 138 ft.lbs. of torque. For this light of a vehicle you get the best of both worlds; quick and fuel efficient. It runs on regular fuel (87 octane) so you can avoid the expensive costs of premium fuel that is typically required when an engine has forced induction.

It has a list of features. Let's go over some of them.

ABS, traction control, tire pressure monitor, power assist brakes, automatic transmission, driver passenger and side curtain air bags, cruise control, steering wheel audio controls, factory fog lights, auto head lights. These are all pretty standard with today's automobiles.
Heated seats. The front 2 seats have built in factory heaters that have independent controls and have 3 heat settings. These are perfect for cold Chicago winters. This is my first car with these and I really got spoiled. If you have not ridden in a car with heated seats in the winter, you are in for a treat.

Auto dimming rear view mirror. This is a nice feature where the rear view mirror dims within seconds of a vehicle with super bright headlights getting behind you. Just this morning I had a truck with a misadjusted headlight behind me and after a second or two the mirror had auto dimmed and reduced the light so I was no longer blinded by that knuckle head. Its quite handy as there is no required input from the driver. Its automatic and is quick to sense and adjust depending on the light from the traffic behind you.
Back up assist. This is a handy one if you are backing into a parking spot. You can quickly realize how close you are to the next vehicle or wall when baking up to avoid backing up too far and getting into an accident. Works on other objects too like the mailbox (good thing as I have come close a couple times) and people, garbage cans, etc.

Touch screen navigation and Infotainment. I think that is the 21st century term we are using now. Plays AM/FM/CDs/ipod/XM and maybe more. I have not tried out the XM portion, but it is available if you have a subscription. I was always on the FM and ipod portions and had no issues. The touch screen is in excellent condition and displays the current song/artist when on FM and ipod. The ipod you can leave connected in the center console and it is always charged and always ready to play when you hop in the car. The navigation is easy to use where you can browse the map or enter a destination and it will take you right there. CD operation is just as easy as you expect. It's a single CD player not a 6 disc but that is what was offered. As for the sound from this It has a 7 channel speaker system and gets plenty loud. Excellent sound quality as it has Pioneer speakers from the factory. Last but not least it connects to your phone. I never set up or used the interface for the vehicles assistant to make calls. I would just use siri (iphone) to start calls and read/reply/write text messages. Just one click and you are hands are back on the wheel.

Climate control. This is a nice system. It has an auto feature where you can simply set the temperature you want and it will handle the rest including blower speed, where the air is coming from (in cabin recirculate or fresh/outside air) and the temperature output of the air from the heat and a/c system. I prefer the air to be on the floor so I set that per the mode button and then you can set the temp and blower speed and it will maintain the temp you request. If it is 30*F outside and you want the interior at 70F set it there. It will blow hot air while the interior is cold, warm air when it is about up to temp, and then adjust as needed to maintain the interior temp. Then if you stop at the school to drop off the kids and the doors are open it will sense it and adjust as needed to get the interior temp back to what you requested. It's a pretty slick system. First time I have owned a vehicle with climate control and its another feature I have been spoiled with.

Moon roof. This has the option to open like a moon roof (hidden in the roof of the car) or like a sun roof above the car (popping up to draw air out of the car). Either way is a good option. I normally use it in the popped up position as the sliding cover inside has vent openings so you don't have the sun blinding you but you get the benefit of the sunroof pulling air out of the car. No leaks when it rains. I know some people fear water leaks when a vehicle has a moon/sun roof but GM did a good job on this as I have not heard of anyone having a water leak issue with a Cruze.

Keyless entry and remote start. Here is another treat. Never again do you have to fumble with using a key or even a key fob to enter or drive your car. Just keep the fob in your pocket and when you pull on any exterior door handle the doors unlock (and open the door for which you are pulling the handle). The trunk is the same way. Just walk up to the trunk and push the trunk button and the trunk opens. Locking the car has 3 options. Option 1 click lock on the fob. Option 2 touch the outside surface of the door handle and the sensor will see that and lock the doors. Option 3 move 10 feet away from the car and wait 10 seconds. It has a feature that I turned on that locks the doors when you walk away. That is really nice when you have the child and t arms full of groceries or diaper bags, etc. When in the car starting the engine is just as easy. Foot on the brake and push the engine start button. This also has remote start. Obviously the vehicle has to be parked in an appropriate location to run the engine (not inside a closed garage) then all you have to do is click lock on the fob and then hold the start button 3 seconds. Then the car will start and run 10 minutes before shutting off. If you forgot or need to run it longer then you can start it again for another 10 minutes. I think 2 runs 10 min each is the limit. I'm usually out there before the first 10 min expires and only a couple times have found a need to run it longer than 10 min. Works good for the a/c in the summer too. What is better than a cool car when it is 95*F and humid. As for the range I have tried this at well over 300 feet (clear line of sight) and its responded like I was standing next to the car. I was impressed. I have tried it at about 100 feet while inside home and work and it starts the car every time. I have not had a longer distance clear line of sight or through a building to see if it would go farther.

Wipers. Pretty standard with high, low, several intermittent settings. I have been using rain x wiper fluid and its amazing how much cleaner the window stays. Recent wiper blade replacement.

Low fuel warning. This is a convenient option. When you get near E for the fuel level it will remind you that it is time to get fuel. The cool part is that it will actually show the closest fuel stations. This would be especially handy if you were out of town or in an area not farmilar to you. Just use the built in navigation to select a fuel station and navigate there.
Everything in the car works as intended in the car. If there is a button, knob, switch; it all works with no issues. When driving it has excellent handling. I know I can write excellent and it may seem im overselling it. I recently purchased a two seat sports car (part of the reason im selling, need less cars in the driveway) and the handling is what you would expect from a sports car. The Cruze has a tighter feel to it and inspires confidence while driving much better than the two seater I bought. Hats off to GM for getting this right.

Maintenance has been done regularly. I have not tracked any of it but I can tell you that the first oil change was at 600 miles and then changed every 2500-3000 miles while owned by my father (I would write the next oil change sticker in the window for 2500 miles and he would bring it to me shortly after that mileage). Since I have owned it, it has been done every 2500 miles. I change it per the odometer at xx0,000; xx2,500; xx5,000; xx7,500 miles. Been doing that on all of our vehicles since I do the service myself so its cost effective and early oil changes is better than costly engine repairs. The only oil I have put in this since new is Mobil 1 Synthetic (silver cap) Dexos rated 5w30 oil. I pick them up at Walmart for the best price. We also have been using the factory GM oil filters only. Nothing aftermarket even when other maintenance was performed.

Good fuel economy. Don't take my word for it. See the reports from FuelEconomy.gov at the links below.

Now for the bad news. As with any used vehicle there is typically some bad news. The vehicle was involved in a minor front end collision (low speed ran into the back of a Cadillac). The front bumper, grille, and front edge of the hood have damage. There are a couple options. Get it replaced/repaired, get the parts yourself have the parts painted and install, or do nothing. I have been driving it as it and it doesn't seem to be that big of issue. There is no road noise and nothing loose or falling off in the front. There is damage yes but maybe that just gives it some character. The back-seat bottom left has some marks on it as shown in the photos. I guess they are scratches but not cut or torn. The back seat on the right we had a baby car seat installed and secured it tightly. Apparently, the impression from the car seat is still in the leather. It's been cold and I'm not sure if this will work itself out when summer comes around. There is a good chance that the leather will relax once heated and go back to normal. The back-right door has 2 scratches in it. I'm not a body guy and will not attempt to resolve that issue. I was told on several occasions that buffing the car in that area will remove the scratches, but I have not attempted it. I caught the scratches in the camera just perfect, so you can see them. If you are walking around the car and not looking for them they don't really stand out. The driver's seat (the one that is always used) is showing some light wear but has no cracking and has been conditioned with leather conditioner (which is why there is no cracking like with some other vehicles with leather interior). The windshield has a ding from a rock that was bouncing down the highway (on the way to the zoo). Also if you look at the complimentary vehicle history report it shows 2 accidents. One is mentioned above. The other was a lane merge issue where this vehicle and another were merging in a construction zone and this vehicle was contacted on the left rear. I dont know much of the details on that one but there was a body shop that buffed the paint i believe on the left rear. I cant tell the difference but I am aware of it and want to be transparent.

Lastly why are we selling it. We have a little one and plan to have another. This car has storage in the back for our daily baggage for 2 full time working adults + Stroller and baby stuff. If we had another we could make it fit but I think we are at the point in our lives where we would rather be more comfortable than tetris everything into the trunk after each stop dropping off baby at the baby sitter and us at our jobs. We have several cars but share just one on weekdays. It's a comfortable and reliable car but for what we have in the driveway im making the call that this is the one to go.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to come see the car. I would be happy to do my best to answer them or set up a showing
