I see each is now listed on eBay for $300-400 a piece!ANTIQUE 19thC BOHEMIAN MOSER Cranberry CABOCHON GOLD GILT GOBLET WINE DRINKING GLASSES / Goblets. 1 lb 3 oz heavy EACH substantial goblet. Top trim 3" appr. diameter High 8-1/8" A magnificent Bohemian glass goblet with cranberry cabochon panels and gilded detail, unsigned but attributed to the famous Moser Glashutte, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1890. The substantial hand blown glass has a wide cut bowl, and a eight-sided faceted stems standing on a stepped petaled foot with star / flower cut base. The whole surface of the glass is painted in gold gilt with alternating panels of tiny flower heads, and naturalistic filigree accents, between cabochon panels of overlaid Cranberry glass. Background: The original company of Ludwig Moser & Söhne was founded in 1857 by Ludwig Moser in Karlsbad, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the Vienna International Exhibition of 1873 he was awarded a medal for merit and that same year he was appointed the exclusive supplier of glass to the Emperor Franz Joseph I. He would win numerous other awards in the coming years, including medals at the World Exhibitions in Paris in 1879, 1889 and 1900, and the World Exhibition in Chicago in 1893. In 1893 Ludwig took over a glass factory in Meierhofen bei Karlsbad and created a full service glassworks employing 400 people under the name of Karlsbaderglasindustrie Gesellschaft Ludwig Moser & Söhne where his sons Gustav and Rudolf also worked. Condition: In excellent condition, without damage or restoration, these goblets have NO wear to the gold gilt at the rim and top of the stem or wear to the base. Please see the photos.
