Penn Antique Restoration 31.5"x80" Antique Side or Back Door w/Textured Glass & 3 Panels * The last photo shows a similar door that we prep-sanded for paint and plugged the lockset holes with solid wood. We included this photo to give you an idea of how this door could be modified to suit your needs. Beautiful , antique door salvaged from an old home in Pottstown, PA. The door is painted on one side and stained on the other side. Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has a single window with old, floral, textured glass and 3 raised panels below on both sides. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Uneven Height: The door's height was unevenly cut by 1/4". The cut was most likely made to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut it to an even 79 1/2", cut it narrower/shorter, or even build it up to be taller/wider-- message us for a quote. Condition : The door is strong, sturdy, and in great condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no rot, warp, broken or cracked joints, or any other serious issues. One of it's panels has a split panel (see 2nd to last photo). E xpansion and contraction occurs naturally due to changes in temperature, and the cracks are just a result of this process over the course of many years. It may sound funny, but when the panels expanded and reached their limits within their openings or frames; they were unable to stretch out any further, and ultimately cracked in the center to relieve its stress or tension. Otherwise, most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". The glass is also intact and in great shape with only subtle scratches. Swing : The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door allowing you to define its swing and install your hinges on either side. Modification : We could modify the door(s) to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame(s), trim or add to the heights or widths, make molding, reverse the swings, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
