This Black Forest style wood case barometer is from France and it dates to the early 1900`s.  This is a genuine old one with exceptionally fine carving and not one of the newer reproductions of this style.  The case is made from solid walnut and finished to a warm medium color.  The barometer appears to be working well and shows no damage whatsoever.  The open book at the top in French (roughly translated) reads "Search in the Bible and read".  Dimensions: 36" high, 18" wide, 4" deep.  478
