Description of item for sale:

This Gothic revival entry portal is from France and dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's.  We do not know its original use.  It is in 2 parts, left and right, that are separated in the middle (see photos).  You could adjust the width to fit your opening by removing material from both pieces where they meet.  We have also included some extra molding to allow it to be trimmed out/finished as needed.  The reverse side is unfinished where it mounted to a wall with a smaller opening.  It is high quality, finely made and flat and not warped in any way.  It is in very good antique condition with a handful of minor chips and scratches as well as some damaged to the crown (see photos).  Dimensions: Overall 92" tall, 67" wide (at crown) and 5" thick.  Inside dimensions: 77" high and 54" wide.  (1259).
