A charming work dating to the turn of the 20th Century of a sunset view in North Wales inscribed to the frame as a scene at Lyn Ogwen. Alfred de Breanski Senior was a distinguished landscape painter who became famous for his resplendent views of the Welsh and Scottish Highlands. He made his debut at the Royal Academy in 1872 and he continued to exhibit there until 1918. He also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Cambrian Academy and influenced many artists during his lifetime. 

Age- c1900

Size- 21.5 by 31.5 inches approx (545 x 800 mm) including frame, canvas 20 by 30 inches approx.

Medium- Oils on canvas, re-lined.

Frame- Period wooden slip frame, some knocks, offered free with the painting.

Condition- Generally good and ready to hang. The work has been professionally cleaned and re-lined in antiquity though some residual darker varnish is visible in some spots. Perhaps a small old repair to the sky to the left side of the sunset. 

Signature- Bears signature lower right.
