It has been produced in year 2016 by a famous Greek Pottery craftsman with international career, who is specialist in the construction of high accuracy ancient Greek pottery replicas reproductions. The vessel is hand-thrown, hand painted with clay based slips and the colours emerge during firing. The slips are produced by carefully selecting and processing natural clays. The color and texture of the decoration depends on details of the firing. The shades of red, brown and black are achieved by following the ancient manufacturing process known as the iron reduction technique which involves successive stages of firing in oxidizing and reducing kiln atmosphere. Τhe clay is free of lead, fabricated under a special procedure in order to eliminate the air quantity and to isolate the limestone elements .This is alligned with the original ancient greek technique which was used to prevent the cracks when the temperature is high. This procedure ensures also that the pottery is more healthy and safe for use. Τhe hand-made painting lasts for ever and the colours used are made by refined soil and natural ingedients found in the Greek landscape. Τhe pottery is aged artificially with chemical materials in very high temperatures out of a klin. The pottery has on purpose the holes and cracks shown on the pictures in order to provide an image of an originally unearthed pottery that has just been excavated. The pottery has in the basement a signature of the craftsman in ancient Greek letters. Asclepius (Greek: Ἀσκληπιός) was a hero and god of medicine in ancient Greek religion and mythology. Asclepius represents the healing aspect of the medical arts. Two of his 4 daughters are are Hygieia ("Hygiene", the goddess/personification of health, cleanliness, and sanitation), Iaso (the goddess of recuperation from illness).
