Seller: l.oppleman-staunton (999) 99%, Location: Staunton, Virginia, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 112216411251 Ancient Native American Adena Woodland Pottery Southern Appalachia TN Indian Ancient Native American Adena Woodland Pottery Southern Appalachia TN Indian Up for auction is this early Native American pottery vessel, which was part of a large collection of world artifacts we acquired some time back. There was a hand written note with this piece that read "Adena Woodland - Southern Appalachia - Carolinas or Tenn. 2 - 3,000 yrs. old." The piece is approximately 6" tall, and 5 1/4" wide (at widest point). It is made from a dull grayish brown clay, and has two chips missing off of it's rim. The rest of the pot is in very good condition, with no other chips or cracks. Where the two pieces are broken along the rim, you can see tiny pices of rock or grit in the clay. We found very similar pieces shown and listed under Woodland and Mississippian Indian artifacts. We are neither experts nor collectors. We research each item and make a good faith effort to represent it as accurately as possible. We make no claims regarding age or authenticity of the item. A nice primitive piece, possibly a drinking vessel. A great addition to an early Native American collection. * Inventory No. I-2359 Easily pay with PayPal.
