The Trypillian culture, the culture of Cucuthen (Cucuteni culture, or the cultural community of Cucuteni Trypillya) is an archaeological culture of the Aeneolithic times, the name of which is derived from the name of the Trypillya village in the Kyiv region, and the name of the Romanian village of Kukuten is also mentioned in this "extended" cultural name. Culture has reached its peak in the years between 5500 and 2750 BC. e., was located between the Carpathians and the Dnieper in the territories of modern Ukraine, Moldova and Romania with a total area of over 350 thousand km². At the time of the flowering of culture, it belonged to the largest settlement in Europe: the number of inhabitants of some of them exceeded 15 thousand people. Trypillian culture is one of the main ancient crop cultures of copper age. Trypillian tribes occupied the areas of Eastern Europe from the Dnieper to the Carpathians, from Polissya to the Black Sea and the Balkan Peninsula. Developed this culture in the V-IV millennium BC. e. (for 2000 years) and there were three stages in its development - early, middle and late. In Ukraine, more than two thousand monuments of Trypillian culture were discovered (as of 2014). They are grouped in 15 oblasts: the largest in the Middle Transdniestria and Nadprutti and Nadbuzh, less in the Dnieper. Probably, by the density of the settlement of the tribal association. One of the features of Trypillian culture was a huge area of distribution (about 190 thousand km²). During its peak (at the end of the middle phase), the population throughout Trypillya culture, according to various estimates, ranged from 400 thousand to 2 million. The problem of the origin of Trypillians is not fully elucidated. Most archaeologists are inclined to believe that the basis of Early Trypillian culture was the southern agricultural and pastoral tribes of Balkan tribes, which, however, in the process of spreading to new eastern territories included elements of local Neolithic and eneolithic cultures at various stages. At the middle stage of the tribal development of the Trypillian culture, vast expanses of forest-steppe from Eastern Transylvania lay to the west to the Dnieper east. They settled in the outskirts of the Upper and Middle Dniester, the Prut, the Sereta, the Southern Bubuzhya and the Right Bank of the Dnieper. The settlement of this period is much larger (indicating an increase in the population) and is located on a raised plateau near rivers and streams. Terrestrial dwellings in them were built in a circle or oval. Housing in the plan had the form of an elongated rectangle and was built on the foundation of a split tree, laid across, a thick layer or several layers of clay overlayed on it. Wicker wooden walls on the pillars and partitions inside the house were covered with clay, from the clay were built ovens on a wooden frame, cupboards, beds near the furnace. The clay was made by ritual altars in homes, round or in the form of a cross (village Kolomiyshchyna, Volodymyrivka, Maydanetske, Tal'yanki). Together with the increase in population, crop areas increased. Livestock has also been developed more than before, hunting has been of auxiliary importance. The tools were made of flint, stone and animal bones, and moths for the processing of land from the horns of a deer. The villages found wedge-shaped and provocative axes of copper. The production of copper from the fields in Volhynia and Podnistrovia began. The level of crafts reached pottery. The monochrome and bichromatic spiral ornament painted on the end of this period was black painted on a yellowish-reddish angob. Dishes of various shapes cling their hands, maybe a slow potter's circle was used. Typical large pear-shaped and crateroid vessels for storing grain, bowls, pots, biconic vessels, etc. (Volodymyrivka, Sushkivka, Popudunya, Shypyntsi); Also made from clay schematised female figurines, animal figures, modeling dwellings. The social order of tribes of the Trypillian culture of this period remained on patriarchal terms. By the middle of the age of Trypillian culture, the settlements found by V. Khvoika near Trypillya villages, Veremey, Shcherbanovka, as well as Volodymyrivka, Vesely Kut, Miropillya, Nebelivka and others. This is not an authentic artifact, it's a copy !!!Dimensions see photos! This item is genuine and from the period described. 100% authentic artifacts.
