1740 . This is the same style used for the St. Andrews Service and the
Tsarina Elizabeth I of Russia Service. The plate is decorated with the
Gotzkowski erhabene Blumen (raised flowers ) design in the paste around
the well of the plate as well as to four sections of the rim with nice
Woodcut style flowers in the center and in three areas along the rim but
my favorite part is the butterfly that fills in the fourth spot. Tiny
flowers and leaves to hide some firing flaws - a common practice on
early Meissen pieces! Gold trim to the edge. The flowers and butterfly
are top notch! The plate is in good condition with some wear to the high
points and some scratches to just the central floral arrangement as
shown. Gold trim has wear on the edge. Displays nicely and is just
stunning! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter.
Marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as an
impressed number 16. Fun addition to the underside by the mark are the
leaves that hide some firing issues from the making. German Germany 18th century If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces . Returns accepted if item is not as described. More
