Six antique wax seal stamps individually framed. These stamps date from the 1800s. I believe most are from England. Well framed in 1" black wavy frames. The framing looks like good quality. They used the appropriate rag mats and spacers to keep a nice air gap between the glass and art. Condition is very good. There are some scuffs and scratches on the frames. All the scuffs are in the same area of each frame from the hangers on the back of the frame, rubbing on the face of the frame. I have touched them up, and they are not easy to see. See the last few photos for close ups of the damage. I was a professional art framer for 13 years of my life, and this is why we always suggest that when you store framed art that you place the pices face to face or back to back. My framing experience also made me notice how well these seals were framed. Someone took the time and effort to frame these up correctly. They are a special piece of history. Please see all the photos carefully, and feel free to message me with any questions or reasonable offers.
The stamps that I can read are "Lloyd's register of shipping," "Royal Geological Society Cornwall," and "General Post office comp?? Foreign Office". The other 3 are very hard to decipher.
