Seller: astoria02 (1,342) 99.6%, Location: Atlanta, Georgia, Ships to: US & many other countries, Item: 192038237681 Color: Gold, Details: Absolutely FABULOUS! Antique French bronze dore (gold gilt). They measure approx. 22 5/8 inches tall & approx. 6 3/4 inches at widest point. Not sure what they were meant for but they have a cup or a holder of some sort which is open from the back. The beautiful leaves that make up the cup also has a space in the front, so you can't put water in it. The design is just phenomenal, with lots of scrolls, flowers, garlands, a vase to the top and a stylized fleur de lis right at top. Above the "cup" is a beautifully casted face with great details to his hair and facial features. The "cup" is attached to the back plate by two nuts or screws. There is a pencil mark on the back of one of the pieces that reads "left". They could possibly have been ornaments for the sides of a fireplace or just architectural ornaments. But you the collector would know more! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Slight age related patina. They were acquired in France approx. 30 years ago by a collector of French antiques. Please message if you require more pictures of certain areas.
