Tile Company Majolica Ceramic Tile Collectible Mauve Leaf Mosaic. Unused Antique Majolica Glazed Ceramic Tile from late Victorian period. Made by the American Encaustic Tile Company in Zanesville, Ohio, the tiles were designed to compete with English ceramic tiles being produced for fireplace surrounds at the time. By 1890 it was the largest tile company in the world. Mauve and brown glaze with an Ivy Leaf pattern represented in a raised embossed faux Mosaic design. Captivating as a decorative accessory or install in your architectural project. Does not appear to have been mudded previously. Some tiny fleabites. See photos. Wonderful condition for age.
