This beautiful Willets Belleek demitasse tea cup and saucer set is a stunning addition to any collection. Made of delicate egg shell porcelain, this set features a lovely multi color floral pattern in ivory with gold designs and marks that dates it back to the late 19th century.
Excellent condition. Tiny paint worn spots on the edges of the saucer, but they could be the white leaves of the flowers. This is the most beautiful demitasse cup and saucer I have ever seen.
The cup is 1.5" h and 2 7/8" w
The saucer is 4 5/8" w

The Willets Manufacturing Co. of Trenton, N.J., began work in 1879 and stopped in 1912. It made decorated ironstone wares, but is best known for its American Belleek porcelain, a light, thin, cream-colored porcelain with a pearly glaze. Belleek porcelain originated in Northern Ireland and was first exhibited in the United States at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. American Belleek was produced for only about 50 years by a handful of companies. According to the Trenton City Museum, this style of porcelain was so costly to produce that makers were only able to sustain production for a short time.
