It is well cast and in very good condition. It depicts the crest of the northern seaside town of Scarborough with the figure of Dicky Dickinson below it. It measures 17.5cm X 5.3cm Scarborough is the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast.In 1626, Elizabeth Farrow discovered a stream of acidic water running from one of the cliffs to the south of the town. This gave birth to Scarborough Spa, and Dr Wittie's book about the spa waters published in 1660 attracted a flood of visitors to the town. Scarborough Spa became Britain's first seaside resort.The first Spaw House (a term used until the early 19th century) was built in the early 1700s, and Dickie Dickinson, a great character, was appointed its governor.
