THIS LISTING is for a 4.5" tall cylinder -shaped light TURQUOISE AQUA MARINE colored a ntique OPIUM based OPIATED PAIN KILLING QUACK patent medicine bottle. The bottle for sale here is still packaged in the original wrapper that it was originally packed in. This is a very early hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating it well OVER 100 YEARS OLD, more than ONE CENTURY OLD.
As the title says, the POSTER CHILD of antique QUACK MEDICINE bottles, as very few antique bottles actually have a narcotic ingredient embossed on it as this one does. It is still wrapped in tattered, original label and it is one we've had in our collection. Note there is NO damage or issues with it and it is just as we purchased it and just as we are selling it. As such, we are compelled to add the disclaimer that this is an "AS IS" purchase with NO returns as we have had unscrupulous buyers on ebay, do things like buy a bottle like this, switch it with a damaged one they have, and then request a return for their damaged one, stating that it was the bottle under the label and they had to take it out of the wrapper to check it, thus ruining the wrapper. I hate to add such things but the internet has created opportunities for such misuse that many of us pre-internet antique bottle dealers never had before. 'Nuff said. A great example of an original opium laced patent medicine bottle, check it out!
