A good quality French made brass photo frame having finely detailed features to the bow ribbon and facing reeded pattern which is very much in the style of Louis XV1. The back has a prop easel with 'Brevete S.G.D.G' impressed innermost, the back cover slides down for access and 3 card backs provide friction support. There's a replacement perspex sheet which is 10 times stronger and safer than glass but is best cleaned with a micro fibre cloth with no abrasives. There are no splits or repairs, the surface finish has discoloured mainly to the outer sides and back - there's some small sized dents running up the rebate of the frame. The inside frame (visible photo size) is 24 x 17 cm, whilst the outer measurements are 28.5 x 19 cm wide - the estimated date is late 19th / early 20th century.
