  Here is an outstanding antique tapestry style runner with wonderful hand made tassels...I feel certain this item is French in origin and came from an estate with many fine antique textiles. The tassels have threads wrapped with a metallic gold thread mingled with other black strands for a lovely effect. I believe the entire piece is made from silk and the design in the tapestry is pale red, gold and a bit of blue all with a metallic sheen. There are three Roses in the design at the top and a single flower at the bottom. The entire piece is edged with a fantastic hand applied trim measuring 1/2 inch in width. The solid dark colored fabric at the top and the bottom of the design is a shiny high quality silk. There are two places at the bottom where it is separated that are both less than 1 inch in length. The silk at the top is a bit thin but none of these issues are noticeable except on close inspection. The back is a gold/tan fabric with no stains or holes and in fine condition. One of the tassels has a bit of the gold thread wrapped around it loose(see Photo) and that is all I can find to mention. The total length of the body is approximately 58 1/2 inches..the tassels  are 7 inches for a total length of 66 inches and the width is 12 1/2 inches.
