Antique French Toile c1810 purple ORIGINAL quilted valance architectural fabric

A wonderful antique , early 19th century valance dating c 1810. toile pattern called " Scenes Familiales" ( Scenes from domestic Life) and is printed by an unknown manufacturer , originally printed in the early 1800's. This wonderful valance is roller printed on to a cotton ground. The cotton almost certainly came from India. This textile is 100% hand stitched and hand quilted. The tone is a wonderful, ruddy deep natural purple tone. This textile is backed in a nubby hand woven linen and there is a lovely repeat at the bottom of the scalloped edges on the back. There is a light cotton batting between the layers ~*~ Gorgeous for any private or public collection ~ ( Purple toile 5744)
MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures approx. 72 inches by 20.5 inches deep on the side edges.
CONDITION : This textile is in as found, unwashed condition with light storage dust. There are some tears and holes in the front fabric, however generally this textile is in lovely condition for its age, not without signs of time and use generally inherent with this wonderful antiques.
