This primitive wooden round box was found in our 1800’s Vermont farmhouse . It is a 19th century tween turned fruitwood box . It measures 6 in high 6 in in diameter . It has flower pattern on its fitted top lid . The aged dark wood and cylindrical shape reflects the primitive days of the mid 19th century . It was more than likely used as a thicket box or sewing box or perhaps in the kitchen to hold flours or grains . This box does have age related cracks on the lid and underneath so it wouldn’t be able to hold flours but it could hold almost any trinket or something that wasn’t too fine . I used it to hold herbal tea bags . It’s a stunning display piece for any room with many uses for purpose or show.
